Has been an Assistant Deputy Minister of Tourism for the Province of Ontario, a partner in the national consulting firm of Marshall Macklin Monaghan (MMM Group) and a research Director at the Conference Board of Canada. He has a Master’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Resource Planning at the University of Guelph and completed a 2nd graduate degree in Human Systems Intervention at Concordia University in Montreal in 2001, focusing on the use of social processes in the collaborative development of organizations and community. Harry is a graduate of the Ontario Co-operative Association Co-operative Management Certificate Program at York University's Schulich School of Business.
Tom Schmidt ICD.D - Vice President
Executive with over 30 years of senior management experience in global life science companies serving in both Canadian and International markets. Tom is currently consulting in the energy management and renewable energy market in Canada with a focus on mergers and acquisitions.
Bob Neugebauer, B.Math - Treasurer/Secretary
An active member of the community in Stouffville and at St. Patrick's parish in Markham including the Treasurer, St. Patrick's Markham Council Knights of Columbus and active choir member. Bob is currently employed as an Advisory Software Engineer, IBM Canada and is the coauthor of several patents, related to database technology. Bob is one of several members that has installed a rooftop solar system on the roof of his home in Stouffville.
Myles O'Brien - Director
Myles grew up in Markham and currently resides in Stouffville with his wife and three young children. He has been actively involved in community environmental initiatives, helping found the Downtown Stouffville Farmers' Market, and representing the Markham-Unionville riding as a provincial Green Party candidate. Myles is a Program Coordinator for the Town of Richmond Hill.
Rick has raised a family of two children in Stouffville, from January 1991. Through the years he has enjoyed volunteering in the community as a Scout (Beaver) leader, was an active member and club executive with the Stouffville Toastmasters Club, was a member of the Stouffville MusicMania show, and is currently a member of the Stouffville’s Men-Of-Note male voice choir. Rick is currently employed as a Technical Writer at General Electric Canada Ltd., in the GE Digital Energy business.
Brian D Shillum BSc. (Chemistry & Biology)
Brian has lived in the Whitchurch- Stouffville area since 1985. Brian has over 30 years of senior management experience in the automotive parts manufacturing sector serving in both Canadian and US markets. Brian has consulted with industries from Manitoba to Quebec on the best methods and practices for efficiency improvement in their processes.
Audrey Bayens, Founding member and Director at Large for the first 4 years after formation of the WSCEC. Audrey managed the Education and Community Awareness aspect to help develop membership and connection within Stouffville. During those years the membership grew to 125 people who enjoyed attending events like environmental film series, electric car and sustainable home technology workshops. Audrey continues to be a member of the WSCEC, and has recently moved to Orillia, Ontario.
